Restoration Ruins - New Life for Old Ruins

This is a very topical issue which affects most of the castles and restoration problems related to them. Many castles, although ruins, of course can be recovered with new functions. The restoration begins with the assignment of the new functions that will allow the monument to obtain the necessary funding to carry out the restoration works and for the continued operation of the structure.

Documentation Centre and Production teaching archeological of the Pieve di Sorano

Filattiera (MS)

Commissioned by the City of Filattiera and the Superintendence for Architectural Heritage of Pisa - The centre was designed to enhance the archaeological excavations carried out in the area of Pieve di Sorano of Filattiera, an important medieval site frequented since the Late Antique period. The project involved the restoration and renovation of an old farmhouse, now preserved in ruins, once made on the archaeological remains and the creation of a new building adjacent to it, destined to educational, exhibition and museological activities. The project was carried out in collaboration with the architect Stefano Milano of the city of Filattiera, of architects Riccardo Lorenzi and Nedo Toni of Superintendence for Architectural Heritage of Pisa.
